CAN'T WE HAVE DIFFERENT TEAMS FOR OVERSEAS AND SUB-CONTINENTAL SERIES' ?

With that 8-0 scoreline and associated ODI loses going into oblivion by the IPL mania......and the upcoming home and subcontinental series may also remove all those pains, but the way some players performed in those overseas series' and their IPL and in the 1st ODI(vs Sri-Lanka) has raised some serious introspections! Performances of those players has forced us to think about selecting players not on the basis of current form only but also accordding to there overseas/sub-continental records too or some technical calls in selection rather than just stastical picks.....

The most prolific batsman on this weakest overseas performance is Suresh Raina who looked like a domestic player in front of fast swinging bowlers in england and australia.Every cricket expert and former greats were sceptic about his technique while facing fast bowlers outside.Adding to this,of late he has been very susceptible towards bouncers and now facing any fast bowler as if all deliveries gonna be a bouncer.Seeing him playing knocks in IPL and the 50 in the 1st ODI you can safely say he is among the bests in the country, the boundry he hit of Malinga in the covers making room and squeezing an allmost perfect yorker between cover and sweeper was supreme.........

Same is the case of Yusuf Pathan....The big heater started his carrier being a front foot player and a buldozer of spinners but of late from when his weakness against short balls has been exposed, he has been waiting in the back foot to each fast bowler and thus his effectivity of hitting spinners has also even gone down.

Same has been the case of Jadeja although his subcontinental record has not been that encouraging too. While Umesh Yadav's performance in Australia was the only silver lining but his performance in IPL has not been that encouraging.Manoj Tiwary has shown discomfort facing short pitch deliveries, being a prolific scorer in India.

Now the point is should the selectors choose according to these technical points also. Can they take the bold decision of dropping say a Raina for a overseas series? Can they choose Yusuf just for the subcontinental series'? Can they give a technically sound Rohit or Rahane a extended run in an overseas series? Will they push for a Pujara or Rahane or Rohit for a scoring Raina for a outside series?

While the Rainas,Yusufs 'll be a certainty in a home series  they must not be in a touring side.Irfan must be a sureity atleast in a overseas series for having the liberty of using four speed bowlers. And IPL performances can only be taken into account for selection in only home series'.
But the real problem is can we drop a constantly scoring player for a tour, can we drop a batsmen performing regionably against the best fast bowling attacks in their backyards. These questions need to be answered positively to be back on the road for the NO-1 position!!!!
