MY THOUGHT ON PREVIEW OF INDO-ENGLISH BATTTLE FOR TEST SUPREMACY

India-England series, preview has been more about ‘Revenge’ and ‘Vengeance’ than anything else more about cricket. Here is something I marked very different in India’s attitude towards the series.

1.      Dhoni coming out in support of rank turners voraciously. (Which I do not believe a bad one)

2.      Not giving a top level national spinner to bowl against the visiting team in the warm ups.(and also the pitches were batting paradises as the scores suggest)

3.      And most interestingly Indian spinners and players doing the mental attack by calling the English weak against spin. (A ploy used by their counterparts earlier)

Out of these three the most shocking besides being interesting is the third one. Is this the Indian team which always burse aside the so called mind games earlier? The mind games the Aussies played all the while they toured and Indians ignored it all the way. Being on the receiving side the English team has never come out in any of their press meetings on these and has been playing it safe believing and trying to fine tune their game.  One of the most vocal guys, KP has been just kept out from the press and they probably getting their preferred pace battery ready for the test. With an never before so much vulnerable Indian batting order these tactics is somehow showing the diminishing self-confidence in the team. Besides an under-fit Zaheer will always be a worry and the main weapon Ashwin will be tested for the first time when he will be leading the Indian bowling attack.

With higher suspicions will be closely seeing the first day of the most hyped test of India’s home series.
